Submission to Directories Gets You Hundreds Of Good - DoFollow Links

As the search engines are changing all the time, it's getting harder and harder to get first page search engine rankings.

The search engines now, prefer websites that have a large number of quality, one way inbound links referencing them. Therefore, it's absolutely necessary that we continuously try to get other websites to link to our pages, WITHOUT a reciprical link.

Reciprocal linking is becoming worthless. Submitting your website to website directories is an effective means to receive, quality, 1 way inbound links pointing to your online properties. Many of the web directories have a high amount of page rank and have been online for several years.

Site age and page rank are 2 of the most critical variables in the qualification of a quality link vs. a junk link. A large number of these directories have both a high Page Rank AND are old websites, giving these directories more authority and power in the eyes of the search engines designers.

Not only that, but there are literally 1000s of online directories on the web that are free for you to submit your website to! It takes time to find these directories and then manually fill out all of the required fields to submit your website. However, it is an excellent way to help improve your search engine rankings.

There are some good website directory submission software products on the market.  Currently I use Incansoft's DirectoryBot.  It allows for separation of sites into different profiles (for those sending lots of site to the directories or those using the tool for SEO clients).  DirectoryBot also provides detailed reporting on each submission.  And currently DirectoryBot includes over 500 directories.

There are some downsides related to the directories themselves now.  Many are no longer completely free - they want a backlink from you in exchange for their backlink to you.  Also, most require that you answer a CAPTCHA.  So the process has become more time consuming but I answer my own CAPTCHAs and submit to all the site in less than 30 minutes.

Not only does it save you time in finding all of these directories, BUT it saves you an incredible amount of time filling out each and every website's submission criteria.
